The members of APPSI are drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds including providers, re-users and consumers of public-sector information, experts from academia and industry, and representatives of producer and consumer groups and the devolved administrations.

- Neil Ackroyd, Executive Director at Ordnance Survey representing the interests of Government Trading Funds;
- Michael Batty, Professor of Spatial Analysis and Planning and Director for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA) at University College, London;
- Stefan Carlyle, secondment from the Environment Agency to DEFRA as Programme Director Designate for the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and the proposed new UK Location Strategy;
- Christopher Corbin, Analyst with the European Commission ePSPplus Thematic Network;
- J Eric Davies, Consulting Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Information Science at Loughborough University, representing the Library and Information community
- Keith Dugmore, Director of Demographic Decisions, founded the Demographics User Group;
- John Gray, holds executive and non executive Board appointments with businesses and trade associations;
- Michael Jennings, ex-Assistant Chief Executive at Surrey County Council;
- David Lammey, Head of the Central Freedom of Information team in the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister;
- Hector MacQueen, Scottish Law Commissioner and Professor of Private Law and Co-Director of the AHRC Research Centre for Studies in Intellectual Property and Technology Law at Edinburgh University;
- Hilary Newiss, Intellectual Property Lawyer and consultant in the fields of Intellectual Property, health, science and technology;
- Michael Nicholson, Managing Director of Intelligent Addressing Ltd; Deputy Chair of the PSI Alliance; former Chair of Locus;
- Bill Oates, Head of Cartographics at the Welsh Assembly Government.
